About Me
I offer some information about myself in the spirit of relational work, where there is always some degree of reciprocity between two people. I understand that it can matter to know a bit about who I am before sharing your own story.
At the same time, I’m intentional about keeping the therapy space centered on you. My hope is that this gives a sense of me as a person, without taking up too much of the room.
My Path Here
I grew up in the Bay Area and have long been interested in our inner worlds—how we think, feel, and make meaning of our experiences. I was fortunate to have access to therapy as an adolescent and have returned to it at different points in my life since then. I’ve spent a lot of time in the other chair, doing my own work.
Like many of the clients I support, I’ve also relied on coping strategies that were, at times, both helpful and harmful. My own experiences with food and body image led me to do meaningful work around deconstructing internalized beliefs about food, bodies, and worth.
Before becoming a therapist, I followed a creative path and worked in interior design, including as a seamstress, through my 20s and into my early 30s. I transitioned into the mental health field in my early 30s, and that creative background still shapes how I think and work.
Identity & Lived Experience
I use she/her/hers pronouns.
Over time, I’ve come to more fully recognize and understand parts of my identity that were always present, but not always named. Some of these experiences tend to resonate with the clients I work with:
Millennial
Child of an immigrant
Jewish
Highly sensitive
Energetic, active mind
Politically progressive
Survivor of complex trauma
Training & Experience
I completed my graduate training at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and am currently a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#136912) practicing under the auspices of Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health.
Over the past several years, I’ve worked in a range of settings, including:
Schools
A residential rehabilitation facility
IOP/PHP programs for eating disorders
A community-based free clinic
Private practice
These experiences have shaped how I understand both individual healing and the broader systems that impact mental health.
