FAQ
Contact me to schedule a no-charge 20-minute consultation to see if we’d be a good fit.
What is your licensure status?
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. This means that I am pre-license (but post-schooling), and am currently accruing supervised hours towards licensure.
What is your therapy approach?
My therapy approach is primary relational, psychoanalytic, and systems-aware. These systems might be local (e.g. family, community) or global (e.g. White Supremacy, Patriarchy, Anti-Fatness).
What do the majority of your clients struggle with?
In the face of questions like: “Who are you? What do you want? How do you get there? Is anybody coming with?”, the majority of my clients struggle with anxiety, panic, depression, oppression, perfectionism, self-doubt, existential dread, and / or unsatisfying relationships. These struggles are often rooted in experiences of complex relational trauma.
What might be the arc of therapy?
First, we will build a trusting relationship (spoiler: this phase never really ends). Next, we will start to increase your awareness of yourself and your patterns, connecting them with past experiences. Finally, we will use this insight to help you forge your own path moving forward. This arc will occur time and time again over the course of treatment, which can span for months or years.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, insurance companies do not contract with associate-level clinicians. Please inquire about my current sliding scale availability, which I provide to increase the equity of my practice.
